RITE OF CATHOLIC INITIATION OF ADULTS

WHAT is RCIA?

It is the process reinstated by the Church after Vatican II, whereby a non-baptized person can enter the Roman Catholic Faith.

In the Early Church, it often took years of a spiritual process for a person to be baptized into the faith.

As a process, each individual journey is respected - often times in the Early Church this process would take 3 to 4 years.

WHO CAN PARTAKE IN THIS?

For any Non-Baptized person wishing to enter the Roman Catholic Faith. Within St. Mary's persons who are baptized in another denomination may also enter the process of joining the fullness of the Roman Church by use of our RCIA Process.

WHO is part of the process?

The persons seeking the Roman Catholic Faith who attend regular classes. John Scerri, Co-ordinator of our Parish Process.  Cathechists who assist in teaching and witnessing to their faith. (Attendence may be periodic)

Sponsors from the Parish who journey with the Candidates privately answering their questions, inviting them to Parish events and are present at each class.

Others from the Parish such as Priest, Presiders, Ministry Leaders who are all part of the Process... including the entire Parish, in its WITNESS AND WELCOME!

WHEN is this all going to take place?

Call or E-mail us to speak to John Scerri, Co-ordinator. Classes run from October to Easter when the Candidates are baptized, or if already baptized, make a Catholic Profession of Faith and are Confirmed and celebrate their First Communion.

Again - for more info on the RCIA program, call us at
(905) 278-1446, (905) 278-2058 else send an E-mail message
to the attention of John Scerri!

Thank you for your interest and God Bless you as well!
