Information about Mary

Blessed Virgin Mary

Most of us know Mary as the Mother of Jesus Christ... the Mother of God...

but do we really know her and what she did? Who she was? And what she represented?

Mary is also known as `The Queen of Heaven', `The Queen of Sorrows', as well as the `Immaculate Virgin' and `Queen of Martyrs' . Mary was assumed into heaven, in both body and soul. She was born without sin, but helps us who do sin.

As you can see, there is much more to Mary than originally thought!  Mary is truly special to the Catholic faith, and in order to better understand what she is all about, feel free to come and visit us here at St. Mary's to learn more. Some parishes have a Legion of Mary group which does just that- teaches and practices their faith - keeping Mary in mind and prayer! Prayers for each other - for others - and for all - through prayers like the Rosary - which Mary asks us to do often!

The Rosary is a set of prayers - usually said using a string of beads called a `Rosary' as well - and is considered a favourite means of devotion to the blessed Virgin Mary, recommended by the Popes over many centuries.

Through the prayer of the Rosary, untold blessings have been showered down upon all humankind throughout the ages. The Rosary is a practical way to strengthen both personal, as well as family life.
